Create efficient, lower cost workplaces with wireless technology

Wireless network solutions

As demand for networked printers grows or changes, you may discover that you have too few Ethernet ports or the ports are inconveniently located. Your choices are to wait for new cabling or go wireless. And since business doesn’t wait for wire, why should you?

Wireless or Wi-Fi solutions work this way. Devices called access points, which contain antennas and are connected to the network with standard Ethernet cables, form the bridge between the wired and wireless components. Access points communicate with the wireless transceivers connected to computers, storage devices, printers and other network devices. With Wi-Fi, workers can perform their usual network activities, such as sharing files, receiving e-mail and printing.

InfoPrint Solutions Company offers two easy-to-install, easy-to-manage wireless output solutions that allow you to place InfoPrint 1000 printers, InfoPrint Solutions Company multifunction printers (MFPs), the InfoPrint 6700 thermal printer and the InfoPrint 6500 impact printer on a wireless network. The current 802.11g standard is faster than the previous 802.11b standard. Both solutions support both standards.

Lower the cost of doing business

When you incorporate reliable wireless technology in your workplace, you can help lower costs in these ways:

  • Reduce the expense of installation or reconfiguration of Ethernet cabling.
  • Maintain productivity because staff isn’t waiting for technical personnel to install new printers.
  • Preserve building and business infrastructure and architecture.

Improve the way you do business

Flexibility is the name of the game. With wireless you can support mobile workers or quickly create new temporary or permanent workgroup, classroom, seminar, warehouse, retail or kiosk locations.

  • Change floor plans easily, quickly and inexpensively.
  • Locate printers near an electrical outlet at the point of need to accommodate peak workloads or special events.

Choose an Ethernet or USB approach

Depending on your requirements for mass management, legacy protocol support, bi-directional support and enterprise security, one of the following approaches can give you the freedom of wireless.

The 802.11g Wireless to Ethernet Print Adapter can:

  • Allow user set-up and configuration of Ethernet-enabled printers at virtually any location within range of an access port.
  • Transform the Ethernet signal to the wireless signal.
  • Appear transparent to MarkVision Professional.
  • Work with existing Wi-Fi certified access points.
  • Adapt to peer-to-peer networks.

The compact 802.11g Wireless to USB Infoprint Server can:

  • Provide wireless networking capabilities for USB-equipped printers, resulting in shared access to devices for small offices and cost-effective access in large offices.
  • Support Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA™) Security, a protocol that employs 64-bit and 128-bit encryption for secure transmission of print data.
  • Include an intuitive set-up wizard.
  • Permit administration through a standard Web browser.
